Lewis County Minutemen (Weston, WV) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers (Buckhannon, WV), 20-13 in a non-league challenge.

The Minutemen now sport a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Philip Barbour for a Big Ten challenge on Wednesday, April 20. Lewis County will face a Colts squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Williamstown (Williamstown, WV). The Colts record now stands at 14-2.

With the loss, Buckhannon-Upshur falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Lincoln (Shinnston, WV) to face the Cougars in a Big Ten challenge on Wednesday, April 20. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 13-1. Lincoln lost 6-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Philip Barbour (Philippi, WV)
