The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) and the host Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL), saw Marquette Catholic's volleyball squad nip Granite City by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Marquette Catholic upgrades its record to 4-10 on the year. The Explorers host Metro-East Lutheran (Edwardsville, IL) to play the Knights in a Gateway Metro bout on Thursday, April 18. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 0-11. Metro-East Lutheran lost 2-0 in their recent league bout against Maryville Christian (Maryville, IL)

The Warriors now own a 4-7 record. They play next when they travel to Alton for a non-league bout on Thursday, April 18. Granite City will play a Redbirds squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Whitfield (St. Louis, MO). The Redbirds record now stands at 5-11.
