Aledo Bearcats (Aledo, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Azle Hornets (Azle, TX), 4-3 in a league challenge.

The Bearcats now own a 26-2 record. They take the field next when they host Granbury for a 5A Region I District 5 challenge on Friday, April 19. Aledo will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 6-2 league win over Saginaw (Saginaw, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 11-10.

With the loss, Azle falls to 13-10 on the campaign. The Hornets host Brewer (Fort Worth, TX) to battle the Bears in a 5A Region I District 5 challenge on Friday, April 19. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 7-15. Brewer lost 15-1 in their recent league challenge against Aledo (Aledo, TX)
