Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Valencia Jaguars (Los Lunas, NM), 21-2 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 14-8 record. They take the field next when they host St. Pius X for a 4A District 5 challenge on Thursday, April 18. Belen will battle a Sartans squad coming off a 20-1 league win over Highland (Albuquerque, NM). The Sartans record now stands at 12-5.

With the loss, Valencia falls to 3-14 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Grants (Grants, NM) to battle the Pirates in a 4A District 5 challenge on Thursday, April 18. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 5-15. Grants won 18-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM)
