Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) and the visiting White Oak Vikings (Jacksonville, NC), witnessed Croatan's softball squad tip White Oak by a count of 7-2.

The Cougars now sport a 8-6 record. They play next when they host West Craven for a non-league match on Wednesday, April 17. Croatan will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, White Oak moves to 4-11 on the season. The Vikings host Dixon (Holly Ridge, NC) to meet the Bulldogs in a Coastal 3A match on Friday, April 19. The Bulldogs go into the match with a record of 13-3. Dixon won 10-0 in their recent non-league match against East Carteret (Beaufort, NC)
