Weslaco East Wildcats (Weslaco, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets (Edcouch, TX), 4-0 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 18-10 record. They take the field next when they host Harlingen South for a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge on Friday, April 19. Weslaco East will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 17-0 league win over Donna (Donna, TX). The Hawks record now stands at 24-2.

With the loss, Edcouch-Elsa falls to 9-16 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX) to battle the Chargers in a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge on Friday, April 19. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 16-10. Veterans Memorial won 20-6 in their recent league challenge against Pace (Brownsville, TX)
