Lincoln Cougars (Shinnston, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Fairmont Senior Polar Bears (Fairmont, WV), 22-0 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they host Buckhannon-Upshur for a Big Ten challenge on Wednesday, April 17. Lincoln will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 10-7 non-league win over Bridgeport (Bridgeport, WV). The Buccaneers record now stands at 9-10.

With the loss, Fairmont Senior falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Polar bears host North Marion (Farmington, WV) to face the Huskies in a Big Ten challenge on Thursday, April 18. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 7-10. North Marion lost 7-0 in their recent league challenge against Lewis County (Weston, WV)
