Fort Scott Tigers (Fort Scott, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Independence Bulldogs (Independence, KS), 11-2 in a league challenge.
The Tigers now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Labette County for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. Fort Scott will battle a Grizzlies squad coming off a 8-7 non-league win over Chanute (Chanute, KS). The Grizzlies record now stands at 6-3.
With the loss, Independence falls to 9-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Baxter Springs (Baxter Springs, KS) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19.
