Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls (Norwood, NC), 9-1 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Stanly for a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Thursday, April 18. Union Academy will battle a Rowdy Rebel Bulls squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to North Stanly (New London, NC). The Rowdy Rebel Bulls record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, South Stanly falls to 7-3 on the campaign. The Rowdy rebel bulls host North Stanly (New London, NC) to battle the Comets in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Wednesday, April 17. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 13-1. North Stanly won 6-1 in their recent league challenge against Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC)
