The Weldon Chargers softball team scored 39 runs and limited the host Southeast Halifax Trojans to 0 in the Chargers league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Weldon moves its record to 8-0 on the year. The Chargers host Northampton County (Gaston, NC) to clash with the Jaguars in a Tar Roanoke 1A game on Thursday, April 18. The Jaguars come into the game with a record of 3-2. Northampton County won 22-7 in their recent league game against Rocky Mount Prep (Rocky Mount, NC)

In their next game, the Trojans clash with the Warren County Eagles (Warrenton, NC) in a Tar Roanoke 1A game, on Thursday, April 18. Southeast Halifax will attempt to move on its 1-5 season record. The Eagles come into the game with a 6-3 record after their 26-1 league win over North Edgecombe (Tarboro, NC).
