Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) and the host Johnson County Longhorns (Mountain City, TN), witnessed Ashe County's softball squad tip Johnson County by a count of 9-4.

The Huskies now sport a 8-4 record. They play next when they host Hibriten for a Northwestern 3A/4A match on Tuesday, April 18. Ashe County will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 21-6 non-league loss to Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 6-11.

With the loss, Johnson County moves to 5-5 on the season. The Longhorns travel to South Greene (Greeneville, TN) to meet the Rebels in a 2A District 1 match on Tuesday, April 18. The Rebels go into the match with a record of 2-4. South Greene lost 7-0 in their recent non-league match against North Greene (Greeneville, TN)
