Canyon Cowboys (Canyon Country, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Golden Valley Grizzlies (Santa Clarita, CA), 6-0 in a league challenge.

The Cowboys now own a 4-9 record. They take the field next when they host Valencia for a Foothill challenge on Tuesday, April 18. Canyon will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 10-3 non-league win over Burroughs (Burbank, CA). The Vikings record now stands at 14-4.

With the loss, Golden Valley falls to 3-15 on the campaign. The Grizzlies host Saugus (Saugus, CA) to battle the Centurions in a Foothill challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Centurions enter the challenge with a record of 14-9. Saugus won 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Castaic (Castaic, CA)
