Carlinville Cavaliers (Carlinville, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Staunton Bulldogs (Staunton, IL), 6-3 in a league challenge.

The Cavaliers now sport a 12-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Litchfield for a South Central challenge on Tuesday, April 18. Carlinville will face a Purple Panthers squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to North Mac (Virden, IL). The Purple Panthers record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Staunton falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Greenville (Greenville, IL) to face the Comets in a South Central challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 3-15. Greenville lost 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Newton (Newton, IL)
