Spectators at Monday's league match between the Norwin Knights (North Huntingdon, PA) and the host Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA), witnessed Norwin's softball squad tip Hempfield Area by a count of 10-8.

The Knights now sport a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Canon-McMillan for a non-league match on Wednesday, April 19. Norwin will meet a Big Macs squad coming off a 20-15 non-league win over Pine-Richland (Gibsonia, PA). The Big Macs record now stands at 4-6.

With the loss, Hempfield Area moves to 5-2 on the season. The Spartans host North Allegheny (Wexford, PA) to meet the Tigers in a WPIAL 6A 2 match on Wednesday, April 19. The Tigers go into the match with a record of 7-3. North Allegheny lost 10-7 in their recent league match against Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA)
