Wakefield Wolverines (Raleigh, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Heritage Huskies (Wake Forest, NC), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Wolverines now own a 12-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Heritage for a Northern Athletic 4A challenge on Thursday, April 20. Wakefield will battle a Huskies squad coming off a 7-2 non-league win over Middle Creek (Apex, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 12-6.

With the loss, Heritage falls to 11-6 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Middle Creek (Apex, NC) to battle the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 19. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. Middle Creek won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Green Level (Cary, NC)
