Illinois High School Softball - Murphysboro bounces Herrin

Spectators at Monday's league match between the Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL) and the host Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL), witnessed Murphysboro's softball squad tip Herrin by a count of 28-24.

The Red Devils now sport a 9-7 record. They play next when they host Frankfort for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio match on Tuesday, April 18. Murphysboro will meet a Redbirds squad coming off a 6-3 league win over Benton (Benton, IL). The Redbirds record now stands at 11-3.

With the loss, Herrin moves to 7-13 on the season. The Tigers travel to Massac County (Metropolis, IL) to meet the Patriots in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio match on Tuesday, April 18. The Patriots go into the match with a record of 6-7. Massac County won 13-3 in their recent league match against Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL)
