James River Knights (Buchanan, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Patrick Henry Patriots (Roanoke, VA), 15-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights now sport a 8-0 record. They take the field next when they host Carroll County for a Three Rivers challenge on Tuesday, April 18. James River will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 6-0.

With the loss, Patrick Henry falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA) to face the Knights in a River Ridge challenge on Wednesday, April 19. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 9-1. Cave Spring won 16-2 in their recent league challenge against Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA)
