Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY), 11-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Devils now own a 8-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fairland for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 18. Russell will face a Dragons squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Gallia Academy (Gallipolis, OH). The Dragons record now stands at 8-3.

With the loss, West Carter falls to 8-10 on the season. The Comets host East Carter (Grayson, KY) to meet the Raiders in a District 62 match on Thursday, April 20. The Raiders go into the match with a record of 14-7. East Carter won 17-0 in their recent league match against Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY)
