Poquoson Islanders (Poquoson, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Denbigh Patriots (Newport News, VA), 15-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Islanders now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host New Kent for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. Poquoson will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 12-2 non-league win over Smithfield (Smithfield, VA). The Trojans record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Denbigh falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Woodside (Newport News, VA) to battle the Wolverines in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. The Wolverines enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Woodside 15-15 in their recent non-league challenge against Denbigh (Newport News, VA)
