Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 7-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Timberwolves now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Central Davidson for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. Montgomery Central will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to West Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Pinecrest falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Patriots host Scotland (Laurinburg, NC) to battle the Fighting Scots in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. The Fighting Scots enter the challenge with a record of 1-0.
