Quitman Bulldogs (Quitman, AR) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mt. Vernon-Enola Warhawks (Mt. Vernon, AR), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now sport a 19-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Concord for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 17. Quitman will face a Pirates squad coming off a 18-2 league win over Calico Rock (Calico Rock, AR). The Pirates record now stands at 15-1.

With the loss, Mt. Vernon-Enola falls to 10-3 on the campaign. The Warhawks travel to White County Central (Judsonia, AR) to face the Bears in a 2A Region 2 challenge on Thursday, April 18. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 3-18. White County Central lost 10-9 in their recent league challenge against Sloan-Hendrix (Imboden, AR)
