Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Santa Barbara Dons (Santa Barbara, CA), 22-5 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 20-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oxnard for a Channel challenge on Friday, April 19. Rio Mesa will face a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Rio Mesa (Oxnard, CA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 12-7.

With the loss, Santa Barbara falls to 5-12 on the campaign. The Dons host Pacifica (Oxnard, CA) to face the Tritons in a Channel challenge on Friday, April 19.
