Summit Hilltoppers (Summit, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Union Catholic Vikings (Scotch Plains, NJ), 6-3 in a league challenge.

The Hilltoppers now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cranford for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. Summit will face a Cougars squad coming off a 18-2 league win over Johnson (Clark, NJ). The Cougars record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Union Catholic falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Governor Livingston (Berkeley Heights, NJ) to face the Highlanders in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. The Highlanders enter the challenge with a record of 7-2. Governor Livingston won 6-4 in their recent league challenge against Dayton (Springfield, NJ)
