The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates baseball team scored 6 runs and held the host Monterey Plainsmen to 0 in the Pirates league win on Thursday.

The Pirates now own a 22-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Amarillo for a 5A Region I District 3 test on Tuesday, April 22. Lubbock-Cooper will clash with a Sandies team coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Frenship (Wolfforth, TX). The Sandies record now stands at 20-8.

With the defeat, Monterey drops to 5-25 on the year. The Plainsmen host Palo Duro (Amarillo, TX) to clash with the Dons in a 5A Region I District 3 test on Tuesday, April 22. The Dons go into the test with a record of 9-18.
