North Carolina High School Baseball - Polk County sneaks past Patton

April 17, 2025: Morganton, NC 28655

The crowd at Thursday's league battle between the Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) and the host Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC), saw Polk County's baseball team get by Patton by a tally of 6-5.

The Wolverines (8-10) will now prepare for their battle against Chase (Forest City, NC). The Trojans enter the Mountain Foothills 7 1A/2A battle with a 8-10 record. In their last battle, Chase held off Hickory (Chesapeake, VA), 5-1, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Panthers face the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, April 22. Patton will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Huskies enter the battle with a 9-11 record after their 9-3 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
