Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Aransas Pass Panthers (Aransas Pass, TX), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Greyhounds now own a 18-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Orange Grove for a 3A Region IV District 29 challenge on Friday, April 22. Taft will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 14-3 league loss to Mathis (Mathis, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-16.

With the loss, Aransas Pass falls to 15-14 on the campaign. The Panthers host George West (George West, TX) to face the Longhorns in a 3A Region IV District 29 challenge on Friday, April 22. The Longhorns enter the challenge with a record of 7-20. George West lost 13-3 in their recent league challenge against Goliad (Goliad, TX)
