St. Laurence Vikings (Burbank, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Montini Catholic Broncos (Lombard, IL), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mother McAuley for a GCAC- Red challenge on Thursday, April 20. St. Laurence will battle a Mighty Macs squad coming off a 6-5 league loss to Providence Catholic (New Lenox, IL). The Mighty Macs record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Montini Catholic falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Broncos travel to Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL) to battle the Ramblers in a GCAC- Red challenge on Thursday, April 20. The Ramblers enter the challenge with a record of 5-10. Loyola Academy lost 6-5 in their recent league challenge against Fenwick (Oak Park, IL)
