New Mexico High School Softball - Wingate bounces Newcomb

The Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) softball routed the visiting Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM), 21-6 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Bears (5-8) will now prepare for their bout against Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM). The Cougars go into the 3A District 1 bout with a 8-9 record. In their last bout, Tohatchi was routed by Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM), 15-0, in a league bout.
The Skyhawks now possess a 2-11 record. They play next when they host Zuni for a 3A District 1 bout on Tuesday, April 25. Newcomb will confront a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 14-2 non-league loss to Laguna Acoma (New Laguna, NM). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 7-5.
