The Independence Patriots baseball team (Coal City, WV), 5-3 in Thursday's league outing with the visiting Shady Spring Tigers (Shady Spring, WV)

The Tigers now hold a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nicholas County for a Coalfield AA outing on Saturday, April 20. Shady Spring will confront a Grizzlies team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV). The Grizzlies record now stands at 10-3.
