The Holmdel Hornets held off the visiting St. John-Vianney Lancers volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Thursday's league test.

The Hornets now have a 8-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Freehold Boro for a non-league test on Friday, April 19. Holmdel will confront a Colonials team coming off a 2-0 league win over Middletown North (Middletown, NJ). The Colonials record now stands at 6-1.

The Lancers (5-3) will now prepare for their test against Jackson Memorial (Jackson Township, NJ). The Jaguars enter the non-league test with a 5-1 record. In their last test, Jackson Memorial was nudged by Southern Regional (Manahawkin, NJ), 2-0, in a league test.
