East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 12-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now sport a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Forsyth for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 22. East Wilkes will face a Titans squad coming off a 13-0 league win over Davie (Mocksville, NC). The Titans record now stands at 5-1.

With the loss, Ashe County falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to face the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 23. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 5-1. South Caldwell won 7-2 in their recent league challenge against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)
