South County Stallions (Lorton, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host West Springfield Spartans (Springfield, VA), 17-12 in a non-league challenge.

The Stallions now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Robinson for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 26.

With the loss, West Springfield falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Spartans host Woodson (Fairfax, VA) to battle the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a record of 7-0. Woodson won 10-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Lake Braddock (Burke, VA)
