Salem Quakers (Salem, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Alliance Aviators (Alliance, OH), 9-5 in a league challenge.

The Quakers now own a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they host David Anderson for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. Salem will battle a Blue Devils squad coming off a 19-0 league loss to Columbiana (Columbiana, OH). The Blue Devils record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Alliance falls to 3-9 on the campaign. The Aviators host St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron, OH) to battle the Fighting Irish in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. The Fighting Irish enter the challenge with a record of 6-4. St. Vincent-St. Mary lost 5-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Medina (Medina, OH)
