St. Maries Lumberjacks (St. Maries, ID) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bonners Ferry Badgers (Bonners Ferry, ID), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Lumberjacks now sport a 3-12 record. They take the field next when they host Grangeville for a 2A Central Idaho challenge on Saturday, April 20. St. Maries will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 28-1 league win over Priest River (Priest River, ID). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Bonners Ferry falls to 3-9 on the campaign. The Badgers host Post Falls (Post Falls, ID) to face the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 4-10. Post Falls lost 16-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Lakeland (Rathdrum, ID)
