Maplewood Tigers (Guys Mills, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cochranton Cardinals (Cochranton, PA), 4-3 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Saegertown for a District 10 Region 2 challenge on Saturday, April 20. Maplewood will face a Panthers squad coming off a 11-6 league win over Eisenhower (Russell, PA). The Panthers record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Cochranton falls to 5-2 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Shenango (New Castle, PA) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 6-4. Shenango won 15-0 in their recent league challenge against New Brighton (New Brighton, PA)
