Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ), 16-0 in a league challenge.

The Scorpions now own a 12-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Joya Community for a 5A Desert West challenge on Monday, April 22. Desert Edge will battle a Fighting Lobos squad coming off a 9-6 non-league loss to Sierra Linda (Phoenix, AZ). The Fighting Lobos record now stands at 4-12.

With the loss, La Joya Community falls to 4-11 on the campaign. The Fighting lobos host Sierra Linda (Phoenix, AZ) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 9-8. Sierra Linda won 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Washington (Phoenix, AZ)
