In Thursday's league contest, the Huntington Beach Oilers (Huntington Beach, CA) softball team overwhelmed the host Fountain Valley Barons (Fountain Valley, CA), by a margin of 9-3.

With the triumph, Huntington Beach moves its record to 15-6 on the year. The Oilers host Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) to play the Monarchs in a non-league contest on Saturday, April 20. The Monarchs come into the contest with a record of 10-10. Mater Dei lost 4-0 in their recent league contest against Rosary Academy (Fullerton, CA)

In their next game, the Barons play the Marina Vikings (Huntington Beach, CA) in a Sunset contest, on Tuesday, April 23. Fountain Valley will attempt to move on its 11-12 season record. The Vikings come into the contest with a 15-8 record after their 9-0 league loss to Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos, CA).
