Saugus Centurions (Saugus, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Golden Valley Grizzlies (Santa Clarita, CA), 8-4 in a league challenge.

The Centurions now own a 15-8 record. They take the field next when they host Thousand Oaks for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 22. Saugus will battle a Lancers squad coming off a 5-1 league loss to Westlake (Westlake Village, CA). The Lancers record now stands at 12-11.

With the loss, Golden Valley falls to 7-16 on the campaign. The Grizzlies host Valencia (Valencia, CA) to battle the Vikings in a Foothill challenge on Tuesday, April 23. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 18-4. Valencia won 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Canyon (Canyon Country, CA)
