Westfield Bulldogs (Chantilly, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Oakton Cougars (Vienna, VA), 9-6 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they host Langley for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20. Westfield will battle a Saxons squad coming off a 11-0 league win over Washington-Liberty (Arlington, VA). The Saxons record now stands at 10-2.

With the loss, Oakton falls to 7-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Fairfax (Fairfax, VA) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. Fairfax lost 15-2 in their recent league challenge against Robinson (Fairfax, VA)
