York Cougars (York, SC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host South Pointe Stallions (Rock Hill, SC), 24-2 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they host Chester for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. York will face a Cyclones squad coming off a 6-4 league win over Clinton (Clinton, SC). The Cyclones record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, South Pointe falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Stallions host Northwestern (Rock Hill, SC) to meet the Trojans in a AAAA Region 3 battle on Monday, April 22. The Trojans go into the battle with a record of 5-10. Northwestern won 15-5 in their recent non-league battle against Palisades (Charlotte, NC)
