California High School Baseball - Piedmont nips Alameda

The Piedmont Highlanders baseball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Alameda Hornets to 7 in the Highlanders league win on Friday.

The Highlanders now hold a 12-4 record. They take the field next when they host Oakland Tech for a non-league test on Saturday, April 19. Piedmont will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 7-2 league win over Skyline (Oakland, CA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-6.

With the defeat, Alameda drops to 7-10 on the year. The Hornets travel to Encinal (Alameda, CA) to play the Jets in a West Alameda County - Foothill test on Wednesday, April 23. The Jets go into the test with a record of 11-6. Encinal lost 7-6 in their recent non-league test against Arroyo (San Lorenzo, CA)
