Illinois High School Baseball - Southwestern edges Litchfield

April 18, 2025: Litchfield, IL 62056

The crowd at Friday's league battle between the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) and the host Litchfield Purple Panthers (Litchfield, IL), saw Southwestern's baseball team gain a win over Litchfield by a tally of 5-2.

The Piasa Birds (4-11) will now prepare for their battle against Greenville (Greenville, IL). The Comets enter the non-league battle with a 6-1 record. In their last battle, Greenville held off Mater Dei (Breese, IL), 10-2, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Purple Panthers face the Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, April 19. Litchfield will attempt to upgrade on its 13-6 season record. The Hiltoppers enter the battle with a 1-12 record after their 9-1 non-league loss to Mater Dei (Breese, IL).
