The Alleghany Cougars got by the visiting James River Knights softball squad by a count of 14-13 in Friday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Cougars meet the Staunton Storm (Staunton, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, April 21. Alleghany will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Storm go into the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 15-3 non-league loss to Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA).
The Knights (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Patrick County (Stuart, VA). The Cougars go into the non-league challenge with a 0-6 record. In their last challenge, Patrick County was nudged by Alleghany (Covington, VA), 25-5, in a non-league challenge.
