In Friday's league test, the Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL) softball squad got by the visiting Frankfort Redbirds (West Frankfort, IL), by a tally of 8-7.

Next, the Panthers clash with the Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) in a non-league test, on Saturday, April 19. Pinckneyville will attempt to advance on its 12-2 season record. The Blackcats go into the test with a 5-9 record after their 14-12 league win over Trico (Campbell Hill, IL).

The Redbirds (11-5) will now prepare for their test against Nashville (Nashville, IL). The Hornets go into the Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi test with a 1-12 record. In their last test, Nashville was nudged by Anna-Jonesboro (Anna, IL), 13-0, in a league test.
