Washington Panthers (Washington, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Canton Little Giants (Canton, IL), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 10-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Metamora for a Mid-Illini challenge on Thursday, April 21.

With the loss, Canton falls to 3-11 on the campaign. The Little giants host Rock Island (Rock Island, IL) to battle the Rocks in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 27. The Rocks enter the challenge with a record of 10-3.
