Combs Coyotes (San Tan Valley, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Coronado Dons (Scottsdale, AZ), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Coyotes now own a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Apache Junction for a 4A Black Canyon challenge on Friday, April 22. Combs will battle a Prospectors squad coming off a 9-8 non-league win over American Leadership Academy (Queen Creek, AZ). The Prospectors record now stands at 10-14.

With the loss, Coronado falls to 0-15 on the campaign. The Dons travel to Vista Grande (Casa Grande, AZ) to battle the Spartans in a 4A Black Canyon challenge on Wednesday, April 20. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 15-9. Vista Grande won 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Cortez (Phoenix, AZ)
