Fairfield Mules (Fairfield, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Edwards County Lions (Albion, IL), 10-4 in a league challenge.

The Mules now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hardin County for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 20. Fairfield will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 13-2 non-league loss to Vienna (Vienna, IL). The Cougars record now stands at 1-8.

With the loss, Edwards County falls to 9-5 on the campaign. The Lions host Fairfield (Fairfield, IL) to battle the Mules in a Black Diamond East challenge on Thursday, April 21. The Mules enter the challenge with a record of 9-8. Fairfield won 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Hardin County (Elizabethtown, IL)
