The Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) softball routed the visiting Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX), 22-12 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Plainsmen (25-4) will now prepare for their bout against Lubbock (Lubbock, TX). The Westerners go into the 5A Region I District 4 bout with a 1-17 record. In their last bout, Lubbock was routed by Wylie (Abilene, TX), 17-0, in a league bout.
