Spectators at Wednesday's league match between the Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA) and the visiting River City Raiders (West Sacramento, CA), witnessed Monterey Trail's softball squad tip River City by a count of 9-3.

The Mustangs now sport a 10-5 record. They play next when they travel to Kennedy for a Metropolitan Conference match on Friday, April 21. Monterey Trail will face a Cougars squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Rio Linda (Rio Linda, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 6-5.

With the loss, River City moves to 6-6 on the season. The Raiders travel to Laguna Creek (Elk Grove, CA) to face the Cardinals in a Metropolitan Conference match on Friday, April 21. The Cardinals go into the match with a record of 7-2. Laguna Creek won 12-4 in their recent non-league match against West Campus (Sacramento, CA)
