Saranac Lake Red Storm (Saranac Lake, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ticonderoga Sentinels (Ticonderoga, NY), 10-9 in a league challenge.

The Red Storm now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Moriah for a Section 7 Champlain Valley I challenge on Friday, April 21. Saranac Lake will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 27-19 non-league win over North Warren Central (Chestertown, NY). The Vikings record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Ticonderoga falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Sentinels travel to AuSable Valley (Clintonville, NY) to battle the Patriots in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I challenge on Thursday, April 20. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. AuSable Valley won 11-5 in their recent league challenge against Northern Adirondack (Ellenburg Depot, NY)
